hi
my wife is on Humanitarian protection/ refugee. she applied in 2nd of February 2018.
her leave expires on October 2023.
Do we calculate the 5 years from the application date or from the approval date. I found the following on the Home Office guidance website:
Calculating the specified continuous period
Applicants can submit a settlement application up to 28 days before they would reach the end of the specified period.
You must calculate the relevant qualifying period by counting backward from whichever of the following is most beneficial to the applicant:
the date of application
the date of decision
any date up to 28 days after the date of application
if it doesn't apply to her case then in which leave does the above apply?
thank you
alf

You are misreading that guide:
indefinite-leave-to-remain/calculating- ... l#p2091622
You count from the date of the
ILR application and counting backwards

hi guys
I made a silly mistake in my ILR application. I miss spelt my name .. I made a very minor error with my grandfather's initial.
1 letter mistake.. I am booked for biometrics next week... should I withdraw my whole application and start a fresh one?
or leave it and explain the error in a letter on the day of biometrics?
thank you

Not the end of the world. Simply add a cover letter and explain the mistakes. Preferably, print out the form correct the parts you made mistakes and simply add a note that corrections made to errors on online form now attached.
Add it as part of others. You can still attach documents if you haven't clicked on "send" yet, or had your biometrics done.

HELLO everyone
my partners refugee visa ends in 20th of November 2023.
however she wants to travel outside the UK for a 4 day trip next week.
The only issue is that she has already applied for ILR last week.
can she travel abroad whilst application on her ILR is active?
thank you

No - her application will be treated as withdrawn.
34K. Where a decision on an application for permission to stay has not been made and the applicant travels outside the common travel area their application will be treated as withdrawn on the date the applicant left the common travel area.

If your partner leaves the UK while her ILR application is being processed, the Home Office will withdraw the application.
