Should you give your ILR application password to the immigration adviser?

My wife is doing an ILR set M application but we would like it to be reviewed by an immigration advisor. A friend suggested that she gives the application password to the advisor so that the advisor can make the necessary changes. That solution seems strange to me, never heard of anyone giving passwords to someone else. Is it how it works? Thanks.

How else would they access the online form???

Also, this is not needed to have things "checked", it is really not a difficult application to make.

I know it is silly to say because most people find the ILR application to be "easy" but we really struggled with it, particularly with the English language requirement: my wife had a UK University degree (PhD) but I couldn’t find any section where we could specify it. We submitted it in the previous applications (spouse visa renewals) and back then there was an explicit section about degrees. Baut here we ended up with questions like this:

Have you passed an approved English language test : we answered No (actually she took a test more than 10 years ago, to be accepted for her UK degree, but we thought the UK Phd would be a stronger argument)

Are you claiming an exemption from the English language test due to a medical or mental condition? We answered No

Do you have exceptional circumstances that prevent you from taking the test? we answered No

Have you provided evidence of your English language ability in a previous application? We answered Yes

Should we just reupload the degree certificate as additional supporting evidence, or is it just something they can dig just back themselves from previous applications?

Just upload the degree certificate with a brief cover letter.

ILR Set(M) : Confusion about the multiple use of same address evidence type

.

Hi all,

in the ILR Set(M), I am confused by the implications of the phrasing regarding the supporting documents. In the section "Other documents", at some point, the applications reads as follows:

- Personal bank statements corresponding to the
same period(s) as the payslips showing that the
salary has been paid into an account in the
name of the person or in the name of the
person and their partner jointly

- 6 letters and/or other documents addressed to
you and your partner at the same address to
show that you have been living together during
the past 2.5 years

- Evidence of council tax costs for the
accommodation in the UK where you live or will
live

I am concerned by the fact that the three b
tick boxes: the personal statement bullet point, the 6 letters bullet point, and the evidence of council tax bullet point, are completely seperated. My question is this:

1/ does it mean that if we use the council tax statement under "evidence of council taxt cost", it can't be used as "6 letters adressed to your and your partner"?

2/ Among the 6 letters, there used to be a rule that it has to originate from at least 3 sources, does that rule still apply (i couldn't find the guidance about it), like for example am I allowed to submit two water bills , one for 2023 and one for 2024 (water bills have both our names, me and my partner)? Or am I allowed to submit jusr one water bill only as part of the 6 letters?

thank you for any help

.

Those on the list are merely for your guidance. There are NO specific rules requiring specific evidence as any evidence can be used.

Finding the registration number of an OISC advisor

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but do you know if there is an online directory of approved OISC immigration advisors which we can consult? Our ILR application is currently managed by an advisor and she's totally bogus (when the advisor knows less than the applicant, there's definitely reason to worry). I think it's worth to check.
