Hi,

Currently I am in dependent visa of Tier 2 general.
By end of March , I will be eligible to apply for ILR.
Issue is my Tier 2 general Dependent visa is expiring by end of Jan.
Can I still submit the application for ILR and book the biometric in Apr or I must extend Tier 2 general Dependent visa.
We have stayed in UK in same address for more than 6 yrs.Will that be enough for ILR.
The first 1+ yrs I was in ICT skilled work visa.
Now paying for Tier 2 general Dependent visa extension and again after 3 months paying for ILR , is huge amount for me and my children.
Please suggest the best options.

You will be eligible to be granted ILR within 28 days of completing your 5 years. Apply before visa expiry and you get 45 days to book the appointment, so choose a biometrics date within the 28-day mark. The date of ILR decision is all that matters

My eligibility for ILR is on Apr 14th
28 days before Apr 14th is Mar 17th.
My current dependent visa expires on Jan 28th.
On Jan 27th, If I file the application for ILR will get 45 days to book the biometrics.
From Jan 27th , 45 days in Mar 15th.
On Mar 15th , I am still not eligible .
Need 2 more days.
Will Home Office approve ILR if submitted 2 days before eligibility.
The 5 yrs period start from when - the application submitted date or biometric taken date or decision on application made date.
Please guide what i need to do.

No, this is simply 28 days.

not getting anywhere that 45 days is considered as 45 working days and not 45 calendar days.

People who make in-country applications must, in most circumstances, book an appointment to enrol their biometric information within a specified period unless an exemption or exception applies or they have used the UK Immigration: ID Check app. People will be informed to:

• make an appointment at a Service and Support Centre (SSC) within 15 working days
• make an appointment at a UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) location within 45 working days

I know that I cant see you or directly message you.
But at this point of time I want to give a BIG HUG for giving me hope and trust which was the thing I really needed now.
When we call to UKVI contact number , the information they provide is the correct.
The people who are suppose to guide need to have much more indepth knowledge.
They dont have it which causes loss of money and stress to many people .

There is no official UKVI helpline. What you get is an outsourced third-party phone line that often dishes out incorrect advice. Be aware of that. Good luck

And in terms of documents is any mandatory which need to be self signed.

As per your advice, I am going to submit the application today for myself and children ILR today and book
the biometric between Mar 17 - Mar 20.
I did go back and informed the customer support for UK VI that they are giving wrong info and website shows something else.
Then they agreed that what ever is shown in website is correct.
Thanks for sharing the URL's that was very crucial.
Don't understand why they keep people in customer service who are less skilled and just there to provide wrong info,confuse people, give heart attacks,what of money and time.

Apply using form SET(O) choosing the skilled worker dependant route.

I have now submitted the application for myself and my children.
Have paid the amount.
It did mention that until Mar 31st I can book the appointment.
I was so happy to see it .

Now the issue is , In TLSContact,when I search for locations to book the date for biometric it shows only till Feb 27th.
Is it like it shows only for 30 days from current date ?
So to book appointment on March 17th, I need to chk on Feb 17th ?
Its crazy..
Please help.

I have no idea how the TLScontact works as that is a third party. Perhaps you need to wait longer for those days to become available.
