English Language

Hi I am applying for ILR after 5 years on FLRM

The question on English language asks for a test whereas in my FLRM applications I was allowed to use my UK Masters as evidence of English language proficiency. There is no option to choose degree as evidence this time. Do I need to give a test for ILR? or can I just attach my Masters degree like last times?

thank you for all your help :)

A UK masters degree will satisfy the requirements for ILR without any issues

I was in the process of uploading documents and it suddenly said I have uploaded everything and submitted my application and there is no way to upload more documents. The only way I see is if I pay 50 more and let TCAS upload. Has anyone else encountered this? This is such a pain.

If I let them upload, can i bring documents on a USB? I spent days collecting everything

I went ahead and submitted a form to withdraw the ILR application from yesterday because I have so many documents to upload and made sense that I do uploading myself. Since I never went for biometrics, UKVI website says I should get full refund. Is this correct?

Can I reapply today before I receive a cancelation confirmation from UKVI?

Why did you withdraw your application ??? Why did you have so many documents ??
UKVI does not send any confirmations for withdrawal

it was much easier to reapply and upload myself
payslips, bank statements, cohabitation documents, mortgage stuff, - even with my computer literacy, i am finding it hard to keep file sizes under 5Mb. also most of the stuff is already in electronic format and hence small sized. there is no way the person at TCAS is doing that much scanning in 20 minutes.

Those documents should not be more than 15 or 20 pages. How many documents did you have for each item ?
You need only a single bank statement and payslip. Cohabitation should be 6 to 8 items.

it asked for the last 6 payslips and last 6months of bank statements to confirm the pay is going into banks
Form Set(M) asked for council tax, mortgage payments

Ok I noted that you are applying under the family route but even considering that, you should not get to 5MB worth of documents.
For cohabitation documents see: All you need to know about cohabitation evidence
I still believe withdrawing is a mistake

Thank you so much for your help

the bank statements alone were over 40 pages.

i started from scratch and uploaded everything myself - lesson learnt, hopefully will never have to do this again. TLS Contact is a major step down from Sepora - when I did it with Sepora couple of years ago, there was an option to add or delete files till the day of appointment. Not sure what TLS are thinking other than to force people to pay for their upload service

Just for anyone’s benefit who might be in a similar situation

So I restarted the application, UKVI will refund the 1st application in full. I uploaded everything myself

Got chatting to the TLS folks and they said they cannot see what has been uploaded because it goes directly to UKVI. Even if I were to buy their premium service to scan and upload documents those will be in addition to whatever I may have uploaded and they still cannot see what was uploaded by me. They said that was a major change from the way the previous company used to work and that a lot of people press submit by error and that sends everything to UKVI with no recourse to change

I submitted my ILR a week or so ago.

My wife who is a British citizen by birth signed the declaration form with her new signature. The signature on her passport is almost 10 years old and she has changed her signature over the years. Do you think this will be a problem?
