UKVCAS or SSC if previous Biometric through APP - Delay Biometric

I would appreciate any comments on my plan for applying for ILR for my dependents, which involves delaying their biometric appointment to gain an additional 16 days.
Our current visa expires on 12th February 2026. My dependents (wife and two children) will submit their ILR applications between 8th and 10th February 2026. Their biometric appointments will be scheduled after 1st March because:
(29/03/2021 vignette + 5 years) – 28 days = 01/03/2026.
This approach ensures that the decision date for my dependents falls within the required 28-day period.
Secondly, is there any possibility that the ILR application will allow biometric submission through the app instead of UKVCAS? Previously, my wife’s extensions were processed via the app, while my children’s were handled through UKVCAS. Does the system require using a Service and Support Center (SSC), which has a 15-day time limit for biometric submission?
