Health Insurance on EEA2 application

Hi, I'll soon be posting my much-delayed EEA2 application off, and am wondering about the 'proof of insurance' (CSI) bit. It seems quite black-and-white, telling me to send in proof of CSI or an EHIC card. I have neither, as I have been a European citizen living and working (full-time) in the UK for the past 5 years, paying NI and full taxes. I am on the NHS, as is my nursing student wife.

My question is, since I am a full-time working paying contributions, do I need to send anything at all? Does my wife, as a non-EU citizen studying here in the UK, need to have a separate CSI? Or can I just ignore that bit of the application and inapplicable to myself?

Thanks!

Ignore. CSI is not required if the EEA national is in employment. I presume it is your wife (the non EEA) who is applying for EEA2. If you have been working in the UK for 5 years, you can apply for a Permanent Residence confirmation using form EEA3.

UPDATE: just read your previous posts. If you have only been working for 2 years and you were a student before, you will need a CSI to cover your student years if you apply for Permanent Residence. It is not required for your wife current application. For a EU national, having or not having a PR doesnt have a major impact on your daily life so it is OK if only she applies for RC using EEA2.

Thanks for the advice. The idea is just to get her the RC, not fussed about the Permanent RC for myself. I have been working for 3+ years now, with my first year of full-time employment coinciding with my last year of studies. But as I said, not fussed.

Will just ignore then, and send in without any reference to insurance.
