Hey fellows,

I married in 2010 with EU citizen. We arrived UK on 18 of April 2012. I received my EEA family permit till 2018. We divorced in 2014, then I applied for retaining visa, UKBA canceled my previous one and issued new one until 2019. My first question, Am i eligible to apply for british passport? if yes, Can i apply in 2017? or wait until 2019. I mention 2017 because I will complete 5 years in UK in 2017.

I really look forward to hear from you guys

Thank you in advance.

Only British Citizens can applyfor British passport. You need to get PR first which could be in your case in 2017 and year later for BC.

Thank you very much for your reply. What is the difference between ILR and PR. To apply PR, what application form should be filled? Do i have to join any exam such as life in the UK or something other? My application date will be on 18th of april. I have seen the link about PR, it says who can not apply:

- applying on the basis of retained rights

Does it affect my situation?

I am looking forward to hearing from you guys.

You will require KoLL for citizenship, not PR.
