New born travelling in and out the UK with a COA

Post by i2siss » Wed Jun 28, 2023 5:09 am

Hi,

Can an EEA national newborn child travel in and out of the UK holding merely COA? The child was born in the UK.

Cheers

Needs a valid EU passport….

Thanks.

I presume this remains the same during any administrative review and/or appeal period if the outcome of the application is negative. Is that correct?

I can only comment on the travel document aspects (Passport + COA).
Others may have more insight into the review/appeals process implications.

Thanks.

I am just imagining in case the child is out of the UK and receives a negative outcome. Will the child be able to enter the UK during any administrative and/or appeal period?

This is an extremely specific query, so not everyone can answer it; besides, it's not an on demand forum.

Using refusal letter given here (british-citizenship/coe-roa-application ... 43365.html), it states:
In relation to this decision, there is no right of appeal or right to administrative review.
It's from 2017 and possibly something changed (I'm not an expert at all in CoE-RoA), but that might mean there's no formal process of appeal, which would allow the child to travel while it's happening.

Hi everyone,

Please, can someone shed some light on the possibility of a 7-month-old child travelling with a COA + EU Passport?

Travelling in and out the UK

Post by i2siss » Fri Aug 25, 2023 6:35 pm

Hi,

Can an EU 8-month child travel in and out of the UK with a COA + EU Passport?

The child applied to the EUSS using an EU National Identity card.

Cheers

Please don't create a new topic every time age changes. If people don't reply to it, it just means there's nobody who knows.
Ask the EUSS resolution centre maybe?

In the end of 2021 I made an application for my newborn child (who was born abroad), we entered the UK by car from France and the officer asked us about statuses, I just told him that the little one is still waiting for status, he said that's fine, as long as you have already applied for it you can live, enter/exit the country without any issues. The little one got his status one month after he entered the UK
