Spouse visa

Post by doon » Sat Apr 11, 2015 8:36 pm

Hello.
My story goes like that-
I'm from Israel and married to a UK citizen. I got my spouse visa on 2010. I stayed in the UK for 6 months and then got back to Israel as we decided not to live together. The visa expired in 2012. recently our relations got back on track and now I want to come back and live in the UK. we never got divorced so we are still married.
Money ways we match the requirements.
What to do next?
Should I start the process from beginning?
Is there any option of extending the visa without the long 6 months process?
Do I have to be out of the UK at time of applying?
Any advice will help.
Many thanks

Should I start the process from beginning?
Yes and meet all the new post July 2012 requirements, financial requirement of £18,600pa earning by your spouse or substantial savings, English A1 test for you. There is also a new NHS health surcharge you have to pay at point of visa application. £200 per year for 33 month visa = £600 payable upfront. You will have to wait 5 years (and a spouse visa extension) before qualifying for ILR.
Do I have to be out of the UK at time of applying?
Yes, because you are applying for a new entry clearance spouse visa and can only apply from your home country.
