Spouse visa

Post by Desimunda » Fri Dec 04, 2015 5:36 pm

Country applying from: India
Type of visa applied for: Spouse settlement visa
Date application submitted 20/10/2015
Date biometrics taken: 28/10/15
Office location processing your visa: New Delhi
Projected timeline given: 30-40 days
Date your visa was received: ??

I was wondering if someone could help me.. I applied for my wife's visa on the date above. When I emailed UKVI yesterday I was told its processing.

I sent UKVI a email today to Track and ask a couple of questions about the application process. But they only replied with the status of the application.

From yesterday's being in progress today it is "that a decision on your application has been delayed whilst further enquiries are being conducted. "

Is it a automated response as they didn't answer my questions, if it is automated roughly how long is the process from being delayed to being processed? In general, I get it depends on each case but just roughly how quickly has the response come. From my own previous experince 2 years ago and doing some research its been about a week to change. Is that still the case? Or does it take longer now?

Also I have heard that nowadays that the HO emails about the process when you reach 6 weeks they send out a email when they are having difficulties processing and it will take longer they email to let the applicant know.

My email to UKVI is it the same thing or does it mean something different? I haven't reached 6 weeks yet, will do next week but I have waited 2 years to apply after my wife's first refusal and it's really hard waiting more now.

If someone could someone let me know please as your aware it's hard enough time and having questions and no one to answer them makes it harder.

Thanks

Maybe the Settlemetn Visa from India Timeline (click) thread could give you an indication of New Dehli applications and time it takes.

A lot of people (applying in all types of visa categories) receive emails such as these.

For example: http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... 97837.html

It's very hard to read anything into them or to estimate when the next stage of processing will be reached.

In one sense it is perhaps the UKVI/HO's 'cry for help'.
In another sense they are teaching us all patience.

Although I know it's very hard to do, the best thing may be to try & put it to the back of your mind & get on with daily life for now.

You can also track other members' experiences in one of the appropriate timeline threads in the forum.
(Your mileage may of course vary).
