CHILD TO COME TO THE UK

I am a UK British citizen, born here and I married a lady from Trinidad and have a child with her, our relationship has broken down and I would like to have our 6 year old daughter come to the UK permanently and reside here in the UK with me. My ex wife is in agreement and I would like to know the process and if this is possible.

Only likely to be possible if you have sole parental responsibility/custody.
is that the case?

So would that mean my ex wife would have to sign full parental care over to me legally?

That is my understanding - or else come to UK herself.

There is no way she wants to come and live here, so the only way for my daughter to come here is for my ex wife to give full custodial rights to me so I can put her in the UK system for schools health care etc

See sole responsibility(click) assuming the child is not automatically British.

The mother is from Trinidad and does not hold a UK passport neither does my child, can I register them at the embassy in the UK?

If you are uk born and have British citizen, then your child should also be British . Why is she not?

We never to around to getting a UK passport for my daughter .. however if that is the case could I get a passport or her and apply for full custody and would I need this for her to settle here if my ex wife Is agreement

Perhaps you could bring her and try and get mother in aswell on the basis of the child. For a young child to be move have to be seperated will seem very harsh, in circumstances where mum poses no harm to her.

I don't believe child will qualify for Entry clearance , perhaps a certificate of a right of abode.

Thanks for the advice

I was hoping that as I a UK citizen my daughter would have an automatic right to stay as Trinidad is part of the UK so to speak, and her mother does not want to move here and agree it will be a big challenge for my daughter to be separated from her mum and home but its something I need to look into

Consular birth registration is optional.

Child may apply for either a British passport or CoE-RoA, but may require mother's consent for both the passport or CoE-RoA and when travelling.
