Hello all. I applied/paid for my visa on Jan 21st, 2019, got my biometrics done at the post office on the 23rd, and today have seen that my documents have been received and signed for in the Sheffield processing center.
I have been working under the parameters of my Tier 4 visa (expiring tomorrow), and my employer has asked me to provide them with a Case ID which I am due to obtain 'from a confirmation letter issued by the Home Office'.
I have been scouring the web and boards to understand how long I should expect to wait for this letter (e-mail?). I have followed the timeline thread and have seen that some people get an 'Acknowledgement letter' days after they submission, some never get it. Does this acknowledgement letter contain a case ID?
I would be most grateful for any input either on the date I should expect to receive such a case ID, whether it is worth calling the Home Office to obtain it, or whether there is some other way for my employer to conduct the necessary right to work check with either the IHS surcharge number, the payment number, or the 'Unique Application Number', all of which I have.
Much thanks in advance. Fingers crossed for all of us with pending applications!
