[WIFE] 28 day rule financial documents and advice

Post by memory-cards » Tue Feb 12, 2019 9:43 am

Hello all,

I am applying for a Wife- Settlement visa to join my husband in the UK me and my husband meet all the requirements, but I have become very confused about the 28-day rule regarding the financial evidence. My husband gets paid at the end of each month, he was paid on January 25th, 2019. I submitted the online application and signed the declaration on February 2nd, 2019. I have not yet booked my biometrics appointment or paid my fees. My husband will be receiving his bank statements tomorrow and will be able to get his payslips signed by his employer the following day. These bank statements and payslips cover August 2018-January 2019. Once he mails his documents to me I will pay my fees and book my biometrics appointment, following my appointment I will send my application off to Sheffield Office.

Does the submittal of the online application and declaration mark the "start" of the application or is it when you book the biometric appointment?

Can someone please give me any advice to if I am going about this the proper way? I am very stressed out over making sure I do this properly as many parts of this application confuse me. Any help is much appreciated thank you.

Try to gather all necessary documents first and then submit the online application because any documents dated after the date of application will likely be inconsidered. Then also make sure that all financial documents such as latest payslip, employer letter and latest payslip, home inspection & landlord NOC letter doesn't be older than 28 days. In your case if your husband gets latest be paid on 25th January then he can get the relevant bank statement from branch to show the credit. Also make sure that your payslips & bank statements strictly cover at least 6 months not even 1 day lesser because HO doesn't have any discretion.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
