Overcrowding

Post by skmouchariq » Sun Feb 17, 2019 8:59 pm

Having an absolute panic to myself right now.

So, me and my husband are half way through collecting the documents for the 2.5 Years Spouse UK Visa

After having given the Accommodation Appendix a thorough read, it states that bedrooms smaller than 50 squared feet are not considered.

I live in a 3 bedroom home with just my mother and father. However, the above demotes us to a 2 bedroom home. Which in the HO eyes would not be suitable for 4 people, 2 couples, to live in.

Any advice or experience on this?

Please help, would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Housing Inspection Report - Necessary?

Post by skmouchariq » Mon Feb 18, 2019 8:01 am

I live with my parents in a semi-detached, 3 bedroom, 1 living room 1 dining room house.
For now just me, my mother and father are living there.
However, one bedroom is less than 50 square feet.
Would it be necessary for me to get a housing inspection report? Or would it highlight the fact one room is below requirements.
Do they genuinely use other living spaces as sleeping accommodation?
Have anyone in a similar situation been successful with their visa?
TIA

I’m not sure if 2 bedrooms for 2 couples is sufficient and may be other members can comment.

However do you have any other rooms on the ground floor?

For example if you have a front room, back room (and a separate room to cook, (forum is changing the K room to Spam!), one of these can be classed as a bedroom.

The OP's partner is applying for a Spouse Settlement (entry) visa.

Yes I m aware about that but op hasn't listed its partner rather just said me, my mother & my father. If that the case then another issue might arise is of evidences of cohabitation.

One would assume that this refers to the present occupants, not the intention in the future once her partner arrives in the UK.

@ariamus With apologies, for member Seagul's peace of mind, would you be able to clarify the following please:

1. Is your husband currently living outside of the UK
2. Is he applying for a Spouse Settlement (entry) visa
3. Do you intend for him to live with you and your parents when he arrives in the UK

With thanks
