UK marriage visitor visa

Post by rammylee » Fri Mar 01, 2019 7:52 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some help around the UK marriage visitor visa. Let me start wit a introduction and I have some questions too. Any help will be appreciated.

I am a British citizen and my girlfriend is a Malaysian citizen. She is planning to apply for the UK marriage visitor visa. She is a freelancer working for herself, previously was a part part teacher. We are not applying for a fiancee visa as she has commitments in Malaysia with family, freelance work, rented accommodation etc and shes doing well in her career in Malaysia. We do plan to apply for a spouse visa one day, once her commitments come to an end.

1.How does the marriage visa application work, is there a interview?

2. should she need to write a cover letter with the application? if so, is there a template I could use?

3. In the cover letter, should I mention that we plan to apply for a spouse visa afterwards when shes more suitable to leave with me in the UK?

4. when she makes the application, does she attache all the evidence or does post the hard copy's?

5. 'proof of your future plans for the relationship, for example documents to show where you’ll live' - is this plans for the marriage visitor visa or after marriage plans?

6. 'details of where you intend to stay and your travel plans' - she plans to stay with me in my mothers home. Would I need a letter from her consenting this?

7. Do we have to give evidence of a provisional wedding booking at the marriage registry office? because I called them and they said the do not give provisional bookings.

8. can I give email print outs of communication with marriage registry office, dining venues, jewellery and dress enquiry?

9. do I need to give evidence of our relationship? what kind?

10. Do I personally need to write a cover letter to support her marriage visitor application with me bank statements?

Look forward to hearing from yous
Rammy

yes to almost all of your questions. But don't forget that if you wish then can skip this marriage visitor visa by simply marrying her anywhere outside the UK and then straight apply for spouse visa because a marriage performed legally anywhere in world is equally acknowledged in UK for visa purposes.
