Spouce visa Income requirement

Post by CR5 » Sun Apr 07, 2019 5:09 pm

Hi Guys,

Will really appreciate any help on my below issue.
  • I am a British national and hold a OCI
I got married in India last month and planned to apply for a spouse visa for my Indian wife however I lost my job this month.
I read somewhere on UKBA website that if I show £16000.00 in my bank account for the 6 months I can still apply for the spouse visa without the need of any other income proof.
I just want to double check if i got it correct about the £16000 and no income proof ?

you have totally misunderstood it. You need to have 6 months old savings of atleast £62500. If you using savings to cover any shortfall in your employment income then you can use your savings but the first £16000 of it would be excluded from calculations.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
