Spouse via extension, knowledge of English language

Post by Rerebata » Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:19 pm

Dear All,

I have read on the gove.uk website that I can prove my knowledge of the English language either by taking the A2 test or if I have a degree and i got it checked by NARIC and NARIC confirmed its equivalent to the UK bachelor’s degree.

My question is, if I obtain the NARIC certificate would that be sufficient?

My first visa is about to expire on 27/07/19 and I still haven't got my A2 test booked.

Please please I need to know when I can apply!

Please let me know.

Many thanks in advance

You need A2 on extension or naric degree comparability statement with naric own issued English proficiency letter under red route. Also no harm in doing B1 ielts life skills which will work on extension and next ilr stage.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thank you so much Seagul for your response.

My spouse visa is expiring on 27/07/2019, when is the latest date that I can apply for my spouse visa extension! If i have to do B1 test so I can use it for the extension and when I apply for ILR that will take me over a month to prepare and get the certificate in hand and I haven’t got much time left on my current visa.

Please let me know.
Thanks

The last date when you can apply is the date of your visa expiry. I am sure you can still book and prepare for it as you still got time for it. A1/A2/B1 all tests almost are same with slightly few minutes difference in completion.

Many thanks again for your response.

Could you please clarify this, if I pass the B1 test I can then use it for the visa extension and also it can be used after 2.5 years when I am applying for the ILR!

Your help is much appreciated?

Many thanks

Hi,
I am trying to book the B1 test on www.trinitycollege.com. The B1 test called “B1 SELT - GESE Grade 5” I have spoken with the Helpdesk at the college and they stated that the test is accepted by the Home Office.
Could anyone confirm this please before I go ahead and book it!

Many thanks
