Travel to third country if I pay for passport return during spousal visa applicagion

Hi - I have a technical question which I’m really hoping someone can help with.

I’m making a UK spousal visa application from the US and going for the priority application. I’m also intending to go for the service where passport is returned while the application is processed because I have an important trip to France to take in the meantime. My question is - has anyone used the passback service to travel to a third country while waiting to hear about the visa application, and was that straightforward/is it viewed as an acceptable thing to do while you wait? Not much information on this on the VFS website etc.

Would be very grateful for any advice with lots of confusing answers out there! Thanks...

If you will get back your passport then you can fly to anywhere during the process of your application.
