FLR M - After submitting application, is sponsor required to still work with same employer until decision is made?

Post by yoyo92 » Mon Aug 12, 2019 10:30 am

Hi guys,

We have submitted application / attended appointment (standard / income route). We are wondering if my partner (sponsor) is able to change jobs? What if referencing people contact them to confirm employment?

Many thanks
Y

Hello

Your partner is free to change job. The employer they contact (usually they don't) would be able to confirm that your partner worked for them at the time of the application. But people's conditions changes and switching employer is not critical.

However, just make sure that:

- His new employer is in the country. If your partner found a job in another country, you don't qualify

- If you are following a UK route, make sure his new salary doesn't drop below the threshold

Since the cost of visa is extremely higher so every effort should be made to avoid any risk/confusion. Therefore in such scenario either to not change the job until the decision or join the new job and wait until to get the 1st payslip to apply under category B.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
