FLR(M) appointment: is partner's presence required?

Post by Panclerc » Sat Nov 23, 2019 11:07 am

Hello,
I have entered the UK on a Tier-2 Visa, valid till Oct 2020. I married a British Citizen last month in presence of a Registrar. We have been living together for a month.
We decided to change my VISA to a Spouse visa. I have just submitted and paid for the Super-priority service. Thanks a lot to the moderators running this forum. I found answers to many of my questions.

I have a few questions:
1) "TYPE OF VISA / APPLICATION: Family Route" is written on the downloaded application I submitted, there is no trace of FLR(M). I am a bit worried if I had chosen the correct choice of application?
2) Is it mandatory to take my partner (husband) when I attend the appointment for biometrics etc.? I am going to carry both his and my passports, my BRP, my partner's consent form, declaration form.
3) For the question
"Do you own or rent your home? I own"
"How much mortgage do you pay each month? £0.00"
We are living in a property that is fully owned only by my husband. I am planning to upload a copy of "register of the title (Land registry)" held in my partner's name. And also a copy of the council-tax bill held jointly by both of us.
4) I would like to write a cover letter and explain the own/rent question, however, how/when/where can I submit the cover letter?
5) "Do you have a biometric residence permit? Yes,.."
"Enter your permit number RHXXXXXXX"

But, I answered, "Do you have any Home Office reference numbers? No"

Thank you for your answers.

1. If you are fully sure of have filled the flrm form then no need to worry.
2. If he is free then take him
3. Good idea
4. As you wish. But upload it along with supporting documents.
5. Rectify that reply in same covering letter.

1. That is what it should say for FLR(M).
2. I know some centres won't let extra people attend the appointment due to space constraints but this information would likely be in any emails from them. Certainly isn't mandatory, I didn't take my partner to my appointment.
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.
