British national with Moldovan fiancee.

Post by wanderlei3000 » Mon Jan 20, 2020 3:14 pm

I'm looking to bring my Moldovan fiancee over to the UK to live with me. I am currently a student and unemployed and without enough cash savings to make up for the salary requirement so it seems a spouse visa is out of the question. :( Based on her qualifications and skills I believe she could find employment easily.

What would be the quickest way of achieving this?

Thank you

She cannot simply work in the UK. She needs to be highly skilled and find a sponsor on the Tier 2 sponsor list to get a Restricted Certificate of Sponsorship and then apply for a visa. Assuming she can get offered a job and meets all the standard requirements.

Would you say based on our current situation it's basically near impossible for her to move to the UK or even spend any length of time here (i.e. 6 months)

She would need to apply for a visitor visa and prove her strong ties to her home country (ie job, annual leave approval, social ties, family ties, property, etc). If she is unemployed, the chance of getting a visitor visa are slim. Having a partner in the UK is normally a sign of more ties in the UK than home country.

Note also that a visit is usually a couple of weeks not 6 months.

Thanks for your responses. Assuming she is able to get a visitor visa and she visits for a few weeks, is she unlikely to be accepted if she reapplies to visit soon after the first visit.
