Next day decision premium appointment

Post by talktonight » Wed Apr 28, 2021 9:55 pm

Hi everyone,

My wife's visa ends on 14th June 2021. Due to some complicated travel, we need to leave the UK on 27th May and return mid June, therefore we decided to apply for her visa extension using premium appointment at Croydon (I understand it's operational now) before we leave.

We want to get an appointment for around 17th - 18th May 2021 (that's within 28 days before the expiry date on her visa), so that we can get our decision on 18th - 19th May and then hopefully BRP before 27th May.

When going online and submitting the application form, I do not see where to choose any available dates for the appointment. The menu consist of 7 steps: Start, Application, Finance, Documents, Declaration, Pay, Further actions. Could somebody please explain at what point I would be able to see available time slots? I don't want to make payment for visa and then discover that there are no appointments available for our dates. Also I am a bit cautious if I submit the application now, at the end of April, would it be actually possible knowing that at the moment we have more than 28 days left before visa expires? At the same time I can't leave the application until 17th May because I am sure if I start submitting it on the 17th May there won't be any premium appointments available right away or the next day.

You will only see the appointments after you submit and pay. You cannot see or book appointments before that.

Note the appointment is not a premium appointment where a decision is made after seeing a ukvi casewroker. The appointment is only for biometric enrollment and identity check at UKCVAS who is a third party agent and not ukvi staff or caseworkers.

Super priority service is payable, if available, when you get to the options page at the end. It is a ukvi service, not a ukcvas one, and is also not guaranteed.

Thanks CR001, so to clarify:

- when I submit the application form and get to "payment" section, it would only charge me £19.20 for biometrics enrolment booking?

- can I submit and pay for the application now, even though it's only end of April and there are more than 28 days left on my wife's visa?

- what if I pay and then discover there are no appointments available, would I be able to send the application with wife's passport by post on the last day of her visa (14th June) when we return to the UK?

Just spoke to Home Office helpline and was able to clarify most of my questions:

- if our visa expires on 14th June, the earliest day when we can submit new application online is 17th May

- when submitting the application on 17th May, we would be able to see if there are premium "get decision next day" appointments available for the next couple of days (in our case the deadline is 18-20th May), if they are, we can book it and receive our visa before travelling abroad at the end of May

- if no appointments are available on 18 - 20th May, then we save the application as draft and submit it when we return to the UK on 13th June, the day before visa expires.
