Settlement for widow

Post by ahsanul007 » Sun Feb 23, 2025 4:24 pm

A friend of mine was British citizen. He died couple of years back. His widow wants settle here from Bangladesh. They have 2 children both children have been granted British citizenship. My friends widow has never applied any kind of settlement application before. I don’t think she qualified for bereavement partner visa because she is not in the UK. Can someone help us what category she should apply under?
Thanks

There is no route unfortunately based on being married to a British citizen who has died. The only route available is for ILR if the surviving spouse is already in the UK on a spouse visa.

How old are the children?

It is literally the question in the oldest sticky in this forum. And nothing much has changed on this front in the past decade and a half.

There is no immigration route for a widow/er currently living abroad to move to the UK after the death of their British citizen spouse.
