Skilled worker visa: Dependents

Post by shanthishyju » Wed May 14, 2025 10:44 am

Hello,

I currently in the UK on a skilled worker visa sponsored by my company. My husband is on ICT and our son is a dependent on the ICT at the moment.

We are planning to move both my husband and son as dependents on to my skilled visa. I have already completed 2 years on the skilled worker visa.

My query is if my husband and son move as my dependents on the skilled worker visa, would they have to spend five years on the dependent visa before we can apply for ILR? Would I also have to wait for another 5 years to apply ILR?

Please can someone help me with this query?

Thanks,
Shanthi

Your dependents need 5 years on dependent visa yes.

This doesn't affect your ability to apply for ilr after you complete 5 years and you meet the requirments.
