07 year son route

Post by Sazz1 » Sun Jan 18, 2026 2:53 pm

Hello,

I came in UK under the ICT tier 2 visa now the Global mobility visa in March 2018. My son came in later in the same year. Due to personal reasons, my son had to return in August 2022 and returned in Jun 2023 (10 months break). Since the visa expired when he was outside UK a new one was applied month following expiry. The return was due to personal emergency/reasons. During this period I was in the UK. Can my son apply 07year route?
My son's majority of studies and personal life has been in UK.

Administrator: If there is an existing thread please do point me in that direction.

Thanks

The 7 year routes doesn't apply to you child. The child doesn't have 7 year continuous residence.

The child will follow the same visa route as the parents. There is no shortcut route for children on the work visa routes.
