Marriage visa for spouse under 21

Post by faisalym » Sun Apr 12, 2009 6:16 pm

Hi,

I am a UK National and I got married outside UK to foreign national who is currently 21. Due to the new law which has been passed on November 26, I can't call my wife to UK under Marriage Visa. I need to know if there are any other alternatives for my wife to the UK.

Please help.

Faz

How old are both of you?

A person who commits to crime will have to go to Jail... It's LAW and you can't tell judge that No, i want to chill out freely.

Does that make any sense?

Same way, you can't appeal against this rule....

Getting married is not a crime. This law is clearly a discrimination against British nationals.

I also tried family visa but they rejected her. Hearing will be next month.

What are you views on taking the government to court over this law?? How much and how long will this take? Please share!

As previously mentioned by John in other post, it could cost thousands of £££ and chances still would be less.

Getting married is not crime but breaking the imposed rules is crime.

U can marry ur fiancee, no-ones stopping that. You just can't have a spouse visa till she is 21.

My wife is 18 ....n i made application for her visa on the 25th november 2008....despite being refused 15 days earlier...i chose to make a second application....

Application was accpeted and VISA granted because then it was legal to for 18 years olds to obtain a visa.....2 days later LAW changed to 21...if an application does not meet the criteria would obviously not be accepted or would recieve an automatic refusal.....

Best thing to do is...apply for a student visa and then get married or simply live together....

Why fight the government and waste your money n time...

Living together wouldn't be an option as the age limit of 21 also applies to fiance, civil partner, and unmarried partner visas.
