Well my wife has got a 27 months U.K SPOUSAL VISA on her Indian Passport.

Can she apply for a U.K Residence Card as a NON--EEA NATIONAL FAMILY MEMBERS. Well she is not a permanent residence yet.

She can if you are an EEA natonal, not if you're British though.

As a British, you have to have lived and exercise EU treaty rights in another member state with your non-EEA family members as employed or self employed person.

On your return, you will qualify.

I see no reason why someone on spousal will want to do that, as they will obtain PR quicker, and hence British Citizenship.

However the Visa free EU travel, is an incentive i suppose.
