Tier 2 long term staff cooling off period

Hi,

Need your expertise urgently please..

I was initially granted a entry clearance to UK from india in the tier 2 long term staff category in aug 2011 which was valid until end of aug 2013.

I entered UK on 1st April 2012 and during aug 2013 I got a leave to remain until april 2014.

I would be leaving back to india by end of this march.

After I go back to India, do I have to wait for a cooling off period, to re-apply for a tier 2 long term staff or tier 2 short term staff.

I couldnt understand clearly what the rules say regarding cooling off period.

Can you please clarify me?

Why cannot you extend your current visa by PEO appointment until you have spent total of 5 years since you came on your long term visa??

*You dont need to wait for cooling off period, as you may apply for short term visa immediately if you want to come to UK again.
