EEA Family Permit for NON EEA Family member residing in UK

Post by thomastharakan » Sun Jul 15, 2007 5:32 pm

Hi,
I have just recently married my wife an EU Citizen (Germany) and have been working in the UK for the past 10 Months on a Work Permit. After the marriage she got a transfer to the UK and now works here and we stay together here in the UK. I would like to apply for a EEA Family Visa. Could anybody guide me on how to make this appication from within the UK or how to proceed with this.
Thank you :)

Do a search here for EEA Family Permit and check the BIA website, it's all there and quite straighforward.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I read through the links you had provided but they refer to application being made from outside the UK only. I wanted to know if I could make the application from within the UK as I am already living with my wife but I am on a work permit and would like to transfer to the EEA Family permit.
Any chance you would have any updates on this scenario ?
Thank You once again.

You can apply for the Residence Card using the EEA2 form. The form can be found at

http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/6353/11406/eea2.pdf

Pls ask if you have any further questions.

Just curious.... Would his applying for an EEA Residence Card void his Work Permit?

Yes, I guess that it will! Once you are granted a leave 'outside the Immigration rules'(as the EEA route is), the immigration checks cease to apply to you and hence the WP should be considered void.

Thanks for that, Docterror.
