MEDICAL CHECK UP AT UK AIRPORT

Post by bulbul614 » Wed Mar 12, 2014 4:03 pm

I am holding somali passport, working in UAE. Applied for spouse visa which has been issued. Travelling soon to UK to join my spouse. My question do I have to go to medical check up at UK airport as UAE is not among the countries listed by UK immigration for pre-screeing requirement of medical certificate prior to submission of spouse entry clearane application to UK. Thank you for your advise.

I think you cannot be sure you will have to have a check up. I read recently of an Indian national who was resident in the US having to go to the Health Centre at Heathrow but when she explained she did not live in India, they allowed her entry without any further check. Some years ago, my husband was sent to the Health Centre and given an X-ray even though he was not coming from a country listed as requiring a health certificate.
