Tier 2 Short Term -Wife pregnant : tuberculosis(TB) test

Post by lokeshchechani » Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:48 pm

Hi there,

I am currently in UK on T2 short tem ICT visa category and have visa validity for more than 6 moths. I would like to bring my wife on dependent visa. According to some new rules any person (from India in particular) coming in UK for more than 6 months needs to go through TB test.

Since she is carrying, Xray can not be done. I have checked with few sources in India and seems she can not apply with for visa with out going under tuberculosis (TB) test.

My queries are :

1. Is there any way she can come without going through TB test.
2. I am ready to give any sort of declaration that is doesn't have TB, would that declaration/application suffice for UKBA to consider this application.
3. Any other viable option?

We both are very keen to get any suitable option and it is though time for her to stay alone during this period.

Many thanks in advance!

She must have TB screening if she is coming for longer than 6 months.

For pregnant women chest X-ray will be offered with abdominal shielding to protect the unborn child. If she declines, other tests may be carried out.

She should enquire at one of the approved clinics.
