EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT BY SAME EMPLOYER

I have discretionary leave to remain which is due to expire on 31 May 2014. My job at the moment is a contract which will end on 30 April 2014. There is a high chance that my employer will extend the contract. My question is that can my employment be extended by the same employer while my visa is being processed. Also can I apply for a different job with the same employer. I have checked online but could not find anything. I know that you can continue working when your visa is being processed but I don't know if this applies for an extension of temporary employment with the same employer.

DLR has nothing to do with employment, per se. Your right to work will be extended whilst your application is decided providing you apply before your leave expires.
