Post by user2013 » Thu Mar 27, 2014 3:13 pm

Hi,
I have done MCA degree from Punjabi University, Patiala. The online Points Based Calculator System is giving 0 points for this. It was taught in english and on my degree document medium of examination is also mentioned as english. Is it the case that My university is not approved by them? What options are left for me?

Thanks,

English requirement is met with only ONE qualification!
It's your choice which one you choose NOT BOTH!
If in doubt, best option for your peace of mind is to take an approved test. In that case you have nothing to loose, should uour degree not be recognised.
Hope this helps

You can even save money on ELA from NARIC and just provide Degree certificate and UKBA points calculator printout if awarded 10 points--- provided :

Do you have any Bachelor's Degree like BCA /Bachelor of Engineering etc? Claim your points on that Bachelor's degree instead and leave MCA qualifications completetly out of picture. (You dont need to claim points on your highest qualifications, but any qualification that matches minimum comparable to UK Bachelor degree)

unfortunately my BCA and MCA degrees are from same university (Punjabi Uni. Patiala), neither of them score points on UKBA PBS calculator. That is the reason i have to look for other alternatives to satisfy the English Language Requirement.

First option - NARIC to re-assess my Bachelor Degree English Language assessment .I have got letter from my university as a evidence to submit NARIC the medium of instructions.( i have read through some blogs that people got NARIC certificate even after their Dergrees doesn't qualify on UK Point based system)

second, English level test - -- Anyone knows which test is quick in terms of getting the results and easy to qualify????

Most people outside the UK take IELTS.
