Applying for Spouse visa soon. Worried...

I am an EU national, living and working in Scotland since July of 2013. In about 1 month my Spouse (who is currently in South Korea) will be submitting all the paperwork to apply for a spouse visa, so that she can join me in the UK.

Having gone over all the required documentation I am worried if we are missing something on my behalf.

My situation:
-I have worked full time in Scotland from July 2013 - January 2014 at 30k a year.
-I have been working on a contract with a company in the US since January(Web Development Project which will go for 6 months) at $40 (USD) an hour, which comes around 20k GBP a year.
- By mid April, I should have around 6k GBP savings in my Bank account
- I have saved all payslips and can provide all relevant information about my full time job contract.
- I haven't done my taxes for the contract yet, so is this something you could point me to the right direction at?

- A problem is that my lease ends in 1 month and i will be moving to another location. Thus getting a letter from my landlord to verify my location will be difficult

Moreso, I fear that the contract may not seem to be adequate enough for me too seem like a financially secure sponsor, as my current employer is a small company and also non UK based.

Would it help if my spouse shows her financial documents in South Korea where she has been working full time?

If you are an EEA national and not British and a qualified person, then she may apply for an EEA family permit to join you.

We are on the EEA spouse visa process. Sorry for being a little confusing.

Even though i am working, it is with a company overseas in the US. Does this still count as exercising EU treaty rights?

You might want to make sure that you at least know the name of the visa that your wife will apply for. If you're taking the European route it will be the: EEA family permit.

And, yes, your job will count as long as you're getting paid in the UK.

another question: Will I need Comprehensive Sickness Insurance in the case where I am working on a contract with an overseas company? I was not aware this is a requirement when taking contract work

What specifically do you mean by contract work? Do you mean that you're on a fixed term contract that expires on xxx date?

You seem very bothered about this overseas company: what are your worries? Where are you getting paid? Where is the contract with?

Generally workers don't need CSI but until you provide more details it's quite difficult for us to know what you mean...

Yeah!, I'm on a fixed contract that expires after a total of 6 months and I have been working on it for 2 months already. I am getting paid by PayPal and the contract is with a US based company. I'm not worried at all about the company I work for but having read about what it means to exercising EU treaty rights as a contract worker, I just discovered (https://contact-ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... ealthcare/) that I need CSI, in order to sponsor my wife for an EEA family permit. Until recently, I was with the impression that NHS would be sufficient.

I hope that is a bit clearer. Sorry for the confusion
