Ink spots on RC.

Post by ria19900 » Sun Mar 30, 2014 5:53 pm

Hey members.could you please advive me as i have a RC after retain rights and recently I ve been on vacation and returned to U.K yesterday.but I ve noticed that there are some ink spots on my RC including on my photo and on the bottom numbers. These marks were caused by the immigration officer at the departure airport and immigration officer placed exit stamp on the opposite page on the RC.
Could you please advice me do i need to replace my RC?
these ink spots make my RC invalid?
Do you thing that it will be a problem whenever next time i am returning from vacation in the U.K?
Waiting for the replies.many thanks

Do the spots cover the numbers? If not, I don't think it would be a problem. You will be able to show them where the opposite page has a stamp and tell the immigration staff the reason for the spots.

I always think it's a good idea (although not very environmentally friendly) to take a photocopy of absolutely everything when I get it (I've been doing this for all of my visa and application materials in China for the past 7 years).

I wouldn't advise rushing to apply for a new EEA2. That can take a long time!

This happens very normally especially in eastern European countries airport because their ink stamps not being used so frequently and stay fresh because mostly EU people fly whose passports not being stamped. I think it will not make problem but maybe cheap airline staff may disturb.

Don't worry as your data is stored in their system.
Once immigration officer scan the passport, without looking your RC,your picture and details come on their screen.normally they cross check the details against your passport and RC.
These ink spots caused of an untrained immigration officer and not your fault or fraud.

you mean uk immigration officer when they scan passport all details comes up comes on system . what about overseas like else where in Europe ?
do they have access to this as well?
if that's the case what would happen if someone who was issued RC ON A4 and lost it while travelling will he/she be allowed to enter without rc as data will appear soon they scan the passport
You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.
