Overseas Marriage Visa

Post by DamienBell » Tue Apr 01, 2014 1:22 pm

Hi i was not sure what section to post in. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice?

I want to marry my cousin who currently lives in iran. We never met until I was 21 years old and we got talking when I was online. She is the same age of me and we feel in love. I have around 2 years worth of chat logs online, phone calls entry logs and etc. We have been to 2 different countries together and just get on really well.

My questions are as follows
Would it be easier to bring her hear to England to marry or do a marriage aboard?

As she lives in Iran and there is no embassy anymore there due to all the issues that arrived can I bring her here on a marriage visa and which tier visa do I apply for and what is the process? Does anyone know?

As we are cousins even though we never met until both 21 years old ( same age) would this cause issues with the government?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks, Damien.

Cousins can marry in UK although there's enough evidence that such relationships can cause birth defects in offspring, something to consider.

Anyway makes to matter where you marry, in UK it's a fiancee visa, abroad it would be a Spouse visa. Can't work on Fiancee visa and need to convert to Spouse visa on marriage, as against marry abroad, spouse visa immediately.

Usual rules, must have somewhere to live, must be genuine relationship, sponsor must earn £18,600 pa....

Thanks for info I earn about 50k a year. What form should I use and what information do I need? If I provide about 2 years of almost every day for about 2 hours a day sometimes more yahoo conversations and a copy of mines and her passport showing what hotels we stayed in and etc would this help? I think this alone would show strong evidence would it not?

As for children to be honest with you think ill adopt. Think its good for society. Its not a sham marriage let me assure you. :)

Here's a link to the Home Office website with all the information you need to apply for a fiance or spouse visa.
