Studying on Residence permit/Residence Card

Hi I was thinking if anyone know anything about this.
What are the rules on studying in the UK with a residence card/permit? Do I have to pay fees as an overseas student or will i be considered as a home student for tuition fee purposes?

It's possible but you need to have been a resident for 3 years prior to the start date.. SOURCE : UK Council for International Student Affairs http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/International- ... Education/

In order to qualify for 'home' fees under this category, you must meet all of the following criteria:

(a) you must be settled in the UK on the first day of the first academic year of the course; and

(b) you must be ordinarily resident in the UK on the first day of the first academic year of the course; and

(c) you must also have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands for the full three year period before the first day of the first academic year of the course - eg, if your course begins in October 2013, you must have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands from 1 September 2010 to 31 August 2013; and

(d) the main purpose for your residence in the UK and Islands must not have been to receive full-time education during any part of that three-year period.

Note: It is not necessary to have had settled immigration status in the UK for the full three years. You only need to show that you have it on, at the latest, the first day of the first academic year of the course.

Thank you. I've been here for three years as international student and 2 months ago I got married with my girlfriend. so that time allows me to apply as a home student or I have to pay the overseas fee.

Unfortunately NO..You have to start counting from when the RC was issued NOT when you arrived on as an International student...You can always try apply to the UNI and see what they say (If you don't try you don't get) But they'll probably want to see your passport and resident card when you get accepted on the course..(you know the score after that )
