Banks that provide statements & letters stamped or signed

Post by vikrams » Wed Apr 09, 2014 11:08 am

Dear members,

I always had trouble getting statements from Natwest and HSBC. Some of my friends had trouble with Lloyds and TSB too. They neither sign or stamp statements printed out in their branch nor the application to send statements home reach on time. I missed getting my daughter's visa by a whisker because of this.

I am due to apply for my ILR next June and I would like to switch to a bank that gives the best service in terms of giving statements or getting a letter from Branch manager, promptness in getting the statements requested, etc.

Please suggest based on your personal experience. Any input will be greatly helpful.

Thanks,
Vikram

I am using Halifax since 2009. I never had any problem getting statements from them. They sign and stamp there and then. If you want proper statements on letter head you can order them for £5 for the whole lot. So in my experience Halifax is really good.

•there is no need for statements printed out in the branch to be stamped or signed (these are the statements referred to as 'ad hoc statements printed in branch' ) these statements are acceptable as long as they have the banks logo and your name and account number etc. you can usually print out ad hoc statements yourself at HSBC branches and these are acceptable.

• the statements that need to be stamped or accompanied by a authenticating letter from the bank are statements printed out online

• if your bank is unable to provide you with suitable statements or a letter in branch then I would suggest making sure you change your statement preferences so that you receive statements in the post on at least a monthly basis or even uptown a weekly basis to avoid you having to ask the bank for an ad hoc statement or to stamp and online statement
