EC for WP holder | urgent reqest for help

Post by prateek » Sat Jul 21, 2007 4:43 pm

Hello everyone,

Request you to help me with 2 questions-

My relevant details:

.. finished my MBA in March 2007,
.. 6 years work ex prior to that,
.. have recieved my Work Permit from my London employer,
.. my London employer is not providing any accomodation,
.. my spouse and child would accompany me as dependants.

My queries/issues:

1) VAF1 form requires me to furnish an address in UK. I can mention a friends address. Do I need to submit any documents (eg. my friends rent agreement, friends letter accepting me in his home, etc.) to the visa officer.

2) I do not have my Income Tax return copies for the last 3 years. Is it absolutely necessary to submit them for the EC application? (I am submitting bank stmt, investment details, company copy of past salary details, experience certificates)

I would be grateful for your help.

Thanks,
Prateek

Using your own numbering to answer:-

1) Since this is your first visit, a letter from your friend that he will be putting up with you for the first few days until you find an accommodation of your own should be enough to fill the accommodation criteria. It is impossible to expect everyone to have their future accommodation ready even before they arrive for the very first time, even by an ECO's line of logic. Even though it is not absolutely necessary, it is a nice idea to get the letter from your friend to be attested by a solicitor/Commissioner of Oaths to give an official look.

2) The financial test of every case is judged by different ECOs by their own discretion. So, while there is no absolute must, usually 6 months of bank statements and paysilps does the trick.
