Send update while on hold?

My wife is currently stuck abroad because I did not initially meet the financial criteria in Appendix FM-SE.
Our application was put on hold with the following statement:
"Your application for entry clearance under Appendix FM to the Immigration Rules has been considered. Your application falls to be refused solely because you do not meet the income threshold requirement under Appendix FM and/or the related evidential requirements under Appendix FM-SE. "

Since then, I have left being a Director and returned to full-time employment. When combined with income from other full-time employment over the past 12 months, I meet the requirement.
Because they have put my application on hold, can I update them on my changed status or do I have to submit a new application because I wasn't in full-time permanent employment at the initial date of the application?

You will have to reapply as you have only met the requirement since applying.
