Help! UK citizen travelling to mexico(cancun)

Hi i have a criminal record for drugs (got a suspended sentence and fine) i got this record in europe.
can i travel on holiday to mexico? i cant seem to find any answers on the internet. i dont want to spend £1500 then not get in the country!
People have told as long as its a direct flight and not stopping it should be fine.
please help!!!

It appears that no where on the tourist card application (click) does it ask about criminality, therefore, you should be ok.
