Tier 1 ---- ILR (Dependent)

Post by wam_khan » Sat Apr 19, 2014 6:49 pm

Hi,

I recently achieved my ILR via Long Residency route on 11/04/2014.

My Mrs has Tier 1 General dependent visa which is due to expire on 19/06/2016. I want to know how important it is to convert her legal status to ILR dependet straight away as her partner's status changes.I am planing to convert her legal status on later date Due to lack of funds.

Please respond to my query in the earliest possibility, I will be grateful.

Regards
Vamiq Khan

She should switch before her current leave expires.

Thnx for your response Amber,

I understand she should switch before her current leave expires, but do you think it is legally important to switch in the earliest possibility as my status has changed. for example if we travel abroad where my visa status is ILR and her status is Tier General dependent. how does immigration desk take this variation in legal status of married partner.

Please respond
Regards
Vamiq

Unless she's applying for EC there shouldn't be an issue.
