I have talked to a friend who recently became irish citizen and he said that you just need to show your approval letter to officer at airport and it will be all fine.adeel.azmat wrote:Congrats everyone.
Question: it asks for your GNIB card...once I submit it, will I be able to travel as I have a few trips coming ahead?? Should I talk to the GNIB office first?
The letter says that 'You should also be aware that once you submit your GNIB Card, it will no long be available to you for travel or other purposes'.amison79 wrote:@wangmuyuang, pls check and double check before u take ne step
The approval letter which I g8t today asks me for my gnib but it also says that I cannot travel.
Better u ask from the immigratiin dept to make sure. If u do so, pls put up on the forum, so the others also kniw reply from the dept

- The address to send document is F.S.P.SA Citizenship Section, Rosanna Road, Tipperary. Is it new address ?
- How long is it from date document submitted to the invitation letter date ?
- My GNIB card is due to renew next month, but I have to send it to INIS this time, and it is unlikely that I can get the Invitation letter soon enough, what should I do ?
Yes, and my friends also my teammates just sits besides me, both him and his wife has done the samething that just show the officer their approval letter. I also have another friend he has done similar thing but instead he photocopied his GNIB card.adeel.azmat wrote:The letter says that 'You should also be aware that once you submit your GNIB Card, it will no long be available to you for travel or other purposes'.amison79 wrote:@wangmuyuang, pls check and double check before u take ne step

Notice the word 'it will no long be available'. This means that you will no longer have it to be used as an identification when you travel and does not mean that you cannot travel as well.
I have a friend going to the GNIB office tomorrow and will ask them this question and post here as well.
