on Probation DUI

Post by Mgrmr2012 » Sat Apr 26, 2014 12:56 am

Hello to anyone that may be of help.

My wife is an American citizen currently living in Philadelphia . She's hoping to come visit me in July for 10 days as I'm unable to travel there until I get cleared by USA immigration, from the time we've been apart (8 months) she got involved in an accident and was found to be under the influence of alcohol (DUI ) . Great fully though she has gotten into an A.R.D. Programme which will eventually null the DUI conviction , the problem is that it's not over until November . Would she face any issues trying to enter the country Northern Ireland which may result in her getting refused entry. It's considered a misdeamonor in Pennsylvania . She has no plans to overstay here. We are committed to hopefully getting me back there although it's become extremely frustrating . Any advice would be very very much appreciated. Thank you .

As your wife it might be difficult to show she is a genuine visitor if questioned.

Thanks wanderer,
Well my wife is a teacher at a special needs school through this all they have been very supportive and not only are they committed to her staying there , she is furthering her education at this time also which is why she is limited to 10 days. She did make a trip over here last year in the summer and stayed with me for 2 months , she returned as she had a preliminary hearing . I don't want to say to her it'll be fine like her family and mine have been doing , being allowed through last year isn't the same as this this year as she hadn't been through the court dates and done the community service etc. at that time . Any advice on what she may need to supply them with if a return ticket isn't enough. Thank you again
