Please help!! French Schengen visa entry to France

Post by jamesconnoruk » Mon Apr 28, 2014 11:27 pm

Hi

I really need some advice on my situation. I am travelling to Portugal at the weekend with my Bolivian spouse. We have been married for about a year and a half and lives here in the uk on FLR and has a resident permit.

She is travelling to Portugal to visit her mother who has gone on a tour of Europe and to also visit the Vatican.

Me and my wife only found about my mother inlaw's visit a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't get a Portuguese Schengen visa appointment on time - and could only get a French multiple entry one. We are only travelling from the 3rd until the 6th and we don't have time to travel to France and France won't be in our travel plans. We were thinking of travelling to France but we can't do it.

Are we going to have issues travelling to Portugal on a French Shengen visa if Portugal is our only destination even if we are honest about the situation? My wife has't seen her mother in nearly two years and we don't want any problems. We can't afford to buy French flight tickets to show and car reservation options don't look likely either as you have to pay upfront and even for reservations.

Advice on our situation would be much appreciated.

Thanks

No issue really but will mean that the French will mostly likely deny another Schengen visa, it happened to my mate's wife because they never went to France on it.

That's Frenchies for you...
