Please help for SoC code for Trainee

Post by lalalala123 » Tue Apr 29, 2014 12:31 pm

Hi
I have been offered by my employer for an assignment in the UK branch for a work experience to become a future management in oversea branch.
I’ve been working for my employer for 3years and I am 25-26years old.
The UK branch is Tier2(ICT) sponsor, but they said they are not sure what visa can be supported for me as they can’t find a SOC code for me in Tier2.
All job title are Director/Manager/Professional, but nothing for the level of a trainee.
Does anyone have an idea for SoC code? I will be learning overall to run a oversea branch ex. Sales, Finance, Management, etc.

The Tier 2 ICT Skills Transfer category would seem to be appropriate for you. It is for max 6 months stay and the min salary is £24,500.

There is a difference between doing a job and training for the job but I understand that for T2 ICT Skills Transfer the HO's interpretation would be "training while doing the job".

Suggest to the company to use SOC code 1139 - Functional managers and directors not elsewhere classified. If they have any doubts ask them to call the employer helpline 0300 123 4699

Dear manci,
Thank you for your advice.
I will suggest Tier 2 ICT Skills Transfer category and the SOC code for the UK branch.
