Hi,
I have been studying ACCA since Feb 2012 and I have passed only first three papers. Now I want to change my college as I don't have working hours here in LSBF. What progression should I have o show to UKBA when I will apply for new sponsor in august 2014. My visa is going to expire in April 2015. Will I be given new visa or not.

Hi Raz
Thats like not even equivalent to 1 paper per semester seems like you have been issued cas at nqf level 7 going by how long you have been issued visa for. Would be hard since you have been studying at nqf level 7 and shown this much progression. What course did you want to do now? Also how is your attendance isit good at lsbf I can understand if you have good attendance and finding it hard but if you have poor attendance then it would look even worse when applying to new institute and ukba. Depending on what course and academics qualifications you have to back you up I cannot say. But you never know unless you try. Jus apply for your course you want and see if you would get accepted but dont pay no fees!!
Thanks

I want to do bachelors in business studies top up programme of two years and lsbf is not my first sponsor as lambeth college was my first sponsor and I was doing ABE diploma level 5 from there but I left it uncomplete and start my ACCA at lsbf so what should I do now as my attendance is 91% and I have just pass first three papers. Should I pass some more papers till Dec 2014 and than apply for new sponsor as I am thinking to get admission in birmingham city university or BPP or LCA to continue my Acca tbere or start my bachelors degree there. What should I do. Please advice me what to do.
Regards.

Hi Raz
What level was you issued your visa for ? If it was level 7 going back to do a Bachelors would be dropping levels and not showing progression. If you are planning on doing ACCA again it doesnt make sense to do the same course in another institute as you are not doing to well right now on your ACCA studies they may look at this to. Tbh if your not to happy where you are you should seek another institute but before you make any payments enquire and speak to these institutes...
I am not sure on how much a abe diploma holds plus its incomplete you could apply for bachelor course but like I said if you have studied at nqf 7 jumping back down would nt be so easy please speak to college and see if this true what I am saying plus you will need to show higher maintenance as you have not completed your current course and doing a completely different course.
If you can gain acceptance for acca else where then why not this would be at your own risk though depending on if they give you CAS and what they put on your progression if its justifiable then its all good but since you have VISA till 2015 and doing acca again makes no sense to me personaly. Doing ACCA with lsbf would be safe option for now since you already have a course your safe till 2015 just apply to other institutes until you get what you want and are sure.
Thanks

Hi,
Birmingham city university is giving me admission in acca as they are going to start acca full time for the first time in sep 2014 and I will also be allowed to work. So what will you advice me to do. Should I go for this option as I will complete tje same course of NQF level 7 started in LSBf now in Birmingham city university. In my application to UKBA I can tell them that tutors are not good there in lsbf as now bitmingham city uni is a university status institute and and have gold status issued by acca so I will be successfully comete my course here. What do you think now what should I do.
I have also read in ukba rules that progression is not compulsory for student who are changing their sponsor/ institute for the first time to study same course commenced in their previous college or university or if a student is extending the visa to repeat modules.
I m pasting the exact wordings of ukba website here so that it will be more convenient for you to guide me than.
Academic Progress
70. If you have a CAS and you previously had permission to stay as a Student or a Tier 4 (General) Student then your Tier 4 Sponsor can only give you a CAS for a new course, if your new course represents academic progress from your previous studies. The only exception to this is where you are:
• re-sitting examinations or repeating modules, or
• making a first application to move to a new institution to complete a course commenced elsewhere, for example, you began a Bachelor’s degree course at a Sponsor whose licence was revoked and you wish to move to a new fully licensed Tier 4 sponsor to complete the same degree course.
So please now tell me what To do should I go for changing sponsor or should I keep on continue in LSBf till dec abd than after dec should I change my college.
Regards

Hi Raz
Sorry for the late reply work and tube strikes!!
Well if university of birmingham is offering you a place then why not take it!!
Do you have any credits left with lsbf? If you do why not stay until december to complete your papers then start fresh with at UB besides course starts in september so you still got time. But if you havent got any papers left then I would finish up and leave for UB.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Yes they are offering me place ( birmingham city university) but the problem is that till sep i have only pass first three papers so what you think if a university issue me a CAS than would it be than headache of ukba about progression or not. Some body told me that its the responsibility of uni or college to take care of progression element before issuing CAS letter and once you get the CAS letter than not to worry. As I send you the Ukba website link in my previous post so what do you think changing college for continuing the same course will it be acceptable by ukba after getting CAS from university. Let me know please.
Regards and thanks

Hi Raz
The progession would be complimentary as you will be doing acca again its true. UB will deal with your progression and if they are willing to give unconditional offer and issue you CAS then it shouldnt be a problem providing you write a good personal statement and the progression on CAS explains why they are accepting you then that side should be okay. But I dont know what UKVI would see ontheir side.
You jus got to ask yourself if you did stay with lsbf till december would the outcome be the same ? Could you pass another 3 papers ? Do you still have credits left if so how many ?
Choice is all yours either way you will still need CAS.

Hi Raz
If thats the case your gona have to purchase more credits to continue your studies on acca should do one last semester with lsbf then you can make the decision to move to BU. Will you not be sitting any exams this june? Sorry about all these questions. Juz wondering what papers you are doing at the moment.
Thanks
