Applying for Extension 3 months before the start date on COS

Post by theabrar » Fri May 02, 2014 12:14 pm

Hi,

I have been issued a COS from my employer for my Tier 2 General Extension. However, the start date is 17 August 2014, I remember reading on the forum somewhere, that we can apply for the extension anytime, but point 167 in Tier 2 Guidance says, "You must also apply no more than three months before the start date on your
Certificate of Sponsorship"
.

I'm confused, can I go ahead and apply now?

Thanks
Abrar

it is para 176 (not 167) and it reads:
176. You must apply within three months from the date your Certificate of Sponsorship was
assigned. You must also apply no more than three months before the start date on your
Certificate of Sponsorship. If this is not possible, you should contact your sponsor.

Whereas you can generally apply for an extension at any time, this is subject to the rules relating to CoSs.
