Need help with NHS bursary

Post by Berthani78 » Fri May 02, 2014 11:09 pm

Hello everyone.
Please I need an urgent answer. I applied to study nursing this year 2014/2015, the problem is I have leave to remain in the Uk but my husband is a British citizen. The question is, can he support my application with his passport?

@Peppekalle,
I have checked with govts website and NHS bursary website, the information is not clear. However, I have been given school loan by student finance to pay for my Access to nursing in the college. Initially when I applied to for the student for my Access course I was refused based on my status was leave to remain, I called the student finance to appeal against their decision and I told I cannot appeal because my status has limit on it and that I could be told anything to leave United Kingdom, then I told no is not possible because both my husband and son are British, from that statement the guy said I qualify because since my husband is British citizen, he is a member of EU and as a spouse of such person, I quality and I was given the loan.
My question is, will that still apply to NHS bursary?

From the NHS website
Have you and the family member been resident in the EEA (European Economic Area) or Switzerland for the 3 years preceding the
first day of the first academic year of your course?
Yes
No
If the answer is no then you dont qualify for the bursary This is because you and/or your family member have not been ordinarily resident in the EEA/Switzerland for the 3 years preceding the first day of the first academic year of your course.
