Retain of rights travelling

Post by doctorajaz » Thu May 01, 2014 12:32 pm

Hi all
I have a question as I have retain of rights after divorce of my EEA national wife.
Married 2007
Lived in the UK more than 3 years together.
Decree absolute granted March 2014
She was self employed all the time and I am working full time before and now.
My question I do not want apply for RC again as my PR is going to be due in few months time Aug.2014.
Can I travel on my current RC that is valid till sep.2015.if so what documents I should carry and what sort of questions they will ask at airport on return?
Would there be any problem?
I have not informed HO yet.should I and how?
Any body had same experience?travel after retain of rights on old RC?
Plz share

It's better if you retain your rights before travel and to avoid trouble on a way back in the uk.

Hi there,
As I said I was married in x2007.entered in the UK in Aug.2009 family permit.got RC in March 2010.
Divorce started march 2013,decree absolute granted 2014.as I am advised advisors I do not have to apply for retain of rights as it is automatic under EEA law and I can travel too.
I do not send my documents now as my PR is due in Aug 2014.
Current RC is valid till 2015.
My question is if I do not apply for a new RC or confirmation.and if I travel next month and take all original documents with me,would there any problem on return?
Any body did same? Plz share.
I am sure there would be some one in same situation.
